Sea spaghetti

Himanthalia elongata

Sea Spaghetti, so called because of its long stringy appearance, is a wonderful mild flavoured seaweed. It's nutty note combined with a shellfish aftertaste makes it a perfect complement to any pasta dish. Sea Spaghetti is not only super delicious – The seaweed’s potassium and magnesium content is ideal for keeping a healthy nervous system.

Did you know that Sea Spaghetti contains 8 times as much magnesium as spinach?
Firm, with a bite to it.
Soak the sea spaghetti for 10 minutes to rehydrate and rinse it. After this, simply boil until al dente and add to a pasta dish or a salad once cooled. As an alternative to pasta, you can bake the seaweed in quiches or gratin or make a delicious sea spaghetti and carrot salad. This seaweed is rich in iodine and therefore should be eaten moderately as a compliment rather than a dish; it might be an idea to add 15-20g of sea spaghetti to a portion that serves 4 people.
